Reverend Redbeard

Here at Acadia After Dark, we usually stick to the shadows. But even in a place where the night hums with mystery, the daylight has its own kind of magic. Autumn in Acadia is a feast for the senses—over thirty species of trees blaze with color, and the winding backwoods roads offer views that feel almost otherworldly.

This time, Reverend Redbeard took a detour from the usual darkness. He drove the iconic Park Loop Road to soak in the fall foliage and recorded the entire ride so you could come along. Set to a calming mix of acoustic folk, this dashboard journey is perfect for anyone craving a peaceful glimpse of the park—especially if you can’t make the trip yourself. But as beautiful as these scenes are, they’re under threat.

Funding cuts to the agencies that protect our public lands are accelerating, and parcels of wilderness are being sold off to the highest bidder. If this trend continues, we may lose access to places like Acadia altogether. If you care about preserving these spaces—for the stories they hold, the peace they offer, and the generations yet to come—consider taking action.

Call your representatives. Volunteer with local conservation groups. And if time is tight, even a small donation can help safeguard what remains. Our national parks are more than backdrops—they’re living archives of wonder, memory, and meaning. Acadia is woven into the fabric of this channel, and we want to ensure it stays wild, protected, and full of stories worth telling.
