Hey there hikers, I wanted to take a moment to talk about something very important to me and that is our local community. As I have said I want Acadia After Dark to be a platform for Maine horror and part of of that is knowing how to use it. Over the last few months this project has grown beyond what I thought it would and I am grateful to each and every one of you for all the opportunities that have come with that. We have a fantastic community of dedicated fans that care deeply about this place we call home and the things which inhabit it and I am aware that this community has a lot of talented creative people in it. On the podcast I have talked to musicians and authors from Maine as well as inspiring people who are doing what they can to build a community themselves while uplifting others. It is incredibly inspiring to see the work and dedication shown by so many but it did get me thinking - what can we do with this platform to make sure this community grows while supporting the local creators who are working tirelessly to keep us all sane in an increasingly dark world.

A few Ideas come to mind, some we are already but there's room to improve always, while other things are something I aim to strive for in the future. As such I have put together a list of three promises which I will hold to no matter what with this platform.

  1. I promise to always prioritize Maine stories - That's why we're here.

  2. I promise to always support Maine artists - If art, music, writing , etc. is ever used on the show that isn't made by myself it will always be from a local creative.

  3. I promise to support our local communities and businesses - If you are in Maine and have something to share or promote (i.e. events, advertisements, sponsors, etc.) I will do my best to help you. Reach out to me with inquiries and we can discuss details or ways I can help but don't be afraid to ask.

Hopefully this community can continue to grow and bring people together to enjoy the stories we all share in. Keep those lanterns lit and stay safe out there.
